All
Request Agility Seminar
This seminar format is open to dogs of all heights, and is customized
for the handlers/dogs in attendance. Handlers are asked to submit
a list of items they feel they need help with, and the seminar
is geared toward these requests. This seminar feels like "the
world's biggest private lesson" as each exercise is customized
for the dog/handler team that is working at the time. We believe
that No One Way Is Right for All Dogs! Because of the individual
attention, this seminar is best when limited to 12 working spots,
but auditor spots are unlimited.
Height
Challenged Dog Seminar
This seminar is geared toward dogs that jump 4", 8",
12", or 16". Many small dog handlers feel that they
don't receive enough attention at regular seminars, or feel
that the topics covered may not be applicable for their small
dogs. So, by popular demand, we created the Height Challenged
seminar! This seminar addresses issues specific to the small
agility dog, such as: Course Faults Common to the Small Dog,
Identifying and Handling "Big Dog" Sections on Course,
Identifying and Taking Advantage of "Small Dog" Sections
on Course, Exercises Every Small Dog Handler Should Practice
on a Regular Basis, How a Small Dog Sees the Course, and many
other important topics. Be sure to read “Size Really Does Matter” by Leslie and Webb Anderson in the July 2006 issue of Clean Run.
Course
Analysis Seminar
By request, we have developed an entire weekend-long
seminar from the Course Analysis section of the All-Request
and Small Dog seminars. This new format will allow the participants
to focus solely on course analysis techniques and how best to
apply them. Handlers will learn
how to analyze a course and determine the best mix of handling
strategies for their individual dogs. Unlock the mystery of
“choosing correctly” with this hands-on seminar.
Participants are invited to provide courses in advance or bring
them to the seminar. These courses will be used during the seminar
for analysis.
Analysis In Action
Finally a seminar designed to simulate the show environment. Bring your running shoes
and be prepared to put your handling and course analysis skills to the test. Learn to
analyze the strengths and weaknesses of your runs. This seminar features a fast-paced,
high-energy format with emphasis on running a full course just as you would at a trial.
Although Analysis in Action is open to all participants, those who have participated in
a Course Analysis seminar will receive maximum benefit from this seminar.
Double Q "U"
Having trouble getting those elusive Double Q’s? Enroll in Double Q "U" to learn the
3 key elements of consistent runs. You'll "graduate" from Double Q U with a degree in
Training & Handling for Consistent Performance. This seminar was developed for dog and
handler teams running at Excellent or Masters level.
How To Be A “Newbie” While Appearing To Be An “Old Pro”
A must for anyone preparing to enter your first agility trial…or anyone who still feels
like a newbie even though you’re not! This half-day seminar is designed to guide you
through the maze of preparing for, entering, and competing in an agility trial. We’ll
walk you through all the steps from choosing your first agility trial to packing up your
stuff and heading home with your blue ribbon after a day of competition.
General
Seminar Information
In addition to the topics shown above, the formats include work
on such issues as: Motivation & Relationship Building with
Your Agility Dog, Hands-On Course Analysis - How to Choose Correctly
When Walking a Course, Jump Training, and more. In both seminars,
auditors are welcome to work their dogs during breaks and lunch
each day. Some of our seminars can be adjusted to a one day format. For seminar
